A Taste of Christmas
Tobacco Dock in Tower Hamlets is the place to go to experience a Taste of Christmas this November. From the 21st through to the 24th of the month more than thirty thousand visitors are expected to attend this food themed event. For those with a passion for all things food related this event is one that is not to be missed. Previous events have been described as a gastronomic heaven on earth and this year’s event looks set to being something extra special to the table. Cookery royalty will be sharing all of their knowledge and tips with visitors in order to be sure that everyone experiences the perfect Christmas fare this holiday season.
Those with a love for hands on experiences will jump at the opportunity to get on stage and take part in one of the many interactive cookery demonstrations that are scheduled to take place. Others will be able to immerse themselves in the market stalls and shop for the very best in seasonal ingredients that will bring something exceptional to their Christmas tables. Food stalls, tastings and meals from top London restaurants await all who come through the doors of this wonderfully fragrant and festive event.
What to Expect
The event has an exciting line up with many of the city’s top chefs and a whole host of food related entertainment set to please all who attend. The boutique Christmas food market is totally unique to the event and will not be found anywhere else. This year’s Taste of Christmas is the only culinary event that you need to attend this festive season. Of course there is more to this event than simply food. Learn everything you wanted to know about the world of the professional bartender, and learn about the art of mixology so that when you return home you can impress your friends and family with your own signature cocktail. Inside the Bakery Theatre you will learn all about the baker’s craft and pick up some tips from some of the world’s most experienced and recognisable pastry chefs, including channel 4’s Eric Lanyard from ‘Baking Mad’. If you decide to treat yourself to the VIP experience you can look forward to attending exclusive master classes and demonstrations as well as enjoying a glass or two of bubbly while taking away a cookery book by either Michel Roux Jnr or Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall.
About the Event
Tobacco Dock is set to be transformed into a world of festive indulgence. For those looking to enjoy a meal provided by one of the top London eateries they should be aware that cash and credit cards will not work here. While you will be able to use cash at the market stalls, those wishing to eat need to purchase ‘crowns’ – the officially designated dining currency of the event. Crowns can be purchased at the same time as your tickets or on the day from sellers at the event. The average price of food at the event will be between 4-6 crowns (1 Crown = £1). Visitors should be sure to use all of their crowns before they leave the event as they are non refundable.
